Do You Read Books?

An author brought me up short with her answer to this question.

"Are there any books you particularly like?"

It's sometimes useful to know the sort of book an author finds inspiring.

This time, my author told me, "Tim, I've never read a book."

She left school early to work in the family business, which she grew to an eight-figure exit. That's the story we're telling.

But she's never had much time or inclination for reading. She said, "I don't know what goes in a book."

That's fine because:

📕 I can tell her what goes in a book
📕 She trusts that I'm right
