Don’t ban books!
Do I think books should be banned?
No. Never.
But that doesn't mean I as a ghostwriter have to help someone write a book I don't think should be written.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I won't work with people with whom I disagree.
I wouldn't have been able to make a living for this long if I only worked with people who share my views.
I've written books for people whose politics I dislike or whose faith I don't share.
That's part of the job.
I'm not here to judge. I'm here to help people figure out what they want to say and express it in their voice.
I don't have to agree with them, and I often challenge them – but I do have to respect them.
I couldn't write a book for someone I don't respect.
🎯 Someone who wants to share ignorance, not wisdom.
🎯 Someone who wants to mislead readers for their own advantage.
🎯 Someone who wants to spread hatred and bigotry.
🎯 Someone who's too lazy to do the work to honor the reader.
I believe those people should be kept as far away from writing books as possible.
I’m no moral crusader—but you couldn’t pay me enough to write racism, hate speech, or deliberate misinformation.
