Paying For Your Ghostwriter
You don't have to pay your ghostwriter.
Good ghostwriters are expensive. Very good ones are very expensive. (If your ghostwriter is too cheap to believe, don't believe in them.)
Most authors who write a book get their ROI – but that doesn't help with the initial cost.
Why not try other ways to fund your book:
💰 Take advance orders from all the people who said "You ought to write a book"
💰 Crowdfund online or from your contacts
💰 Get a grant from organisations in your field
💰 Ask senior leaders in your business
💰 Get your marketing department to pay for your book
The last one is my favorite.
A book is a marketing tool with a wider, more powerful reach than a traditional campaign. If you fold the cost into a marketing budget, not only are you not out of pocket. Your book is also a deductible expense.
💰 The IRS and Inland Revenue both deduct the costs of marketing aimed at bringing in new customers and retaining existing ones.
Your book will also provide content to spin off into social media, blogs, and newsletters for months, or even years.
