Find Your ROI
A business book can be far more than just a book. The way one of my authors did it, it becomes a resource whose impact can spread for years.
I can't escape the book we wrote together.
Every time I look at LinkedIn, there are extracts or summaries of the main points. They’re in display quotes, or being discussed by the author in videos or in clips from podcasts. Or they’re the basis of a gathering or conference.
I assume similar material is being reused on other social-media platforms.
It was always the author’s intention to lay out his wisdom in his book, but then be able to recycle it in all sorts of different ways for a couple of years.
It was key to his ROI that there would be multiple income streams from masterminds, speaking engagements, one-on-ones, and consultancy. Today, the book has become one of the key components of building a global – and lucrative – organization for executives.
The book was just the first step, albeit the most important one.
It’s a perfect demonstration of the many different ways a book can keep returning ROI for years after it's been published.
